About the Blogger

Tea Silvestre launched Social Good Consulting (formerly Social Good Marketing & Design, Inc.) in 2006 with the mission to help socially conscious businesses and nonprofits “create waves of positive change.” Through the strategic use of marketing and business planning, she continues to assist her clients by helping them identify and clarify their big picture goals and then create a road map of focused action items that will get them where they want to be.

Tea is also the host of Planet Good Radio, a weekly internet radio show that explores the strategies, leaders and new markets that are driving the evolution of conscious business.  And she teaches marketing and business planning through various venues including the Ventura College community education program and WEV’s Self-Employment Training classes.

Prior to launching Social Good, Tea was Director of Marketing for PRIDE Industries —a national nonprofit that works to create jobs for people with disabilities—where she was responsible for the strategic development and design of the organization’s marketing collateral and web-based communications.

Before that, she was Director of the Community Center Department at the City of Lodi. During that time, she ran (and marketed!) the City’s Performing Arts and Conference Center, also known as “Hutchins Street Square.” She also worked closely with the community’s Arts Commission and other local nonprofit boards and organizations to help build and promote the local art scene through festivals and other events. She is directly responsible for starting Lodi’s First Friday Art Hop – an art crawl of local galleries similar to monthly events in other cities.

Tea honed her marketing and design skills in various fields over the years. As Marketing Communications Manager for Pharmaceutical Care Network (a national pharmacy benefits management company), she implemented several successful, national business-to-business campaigns. And as Creative Services Manager for Great Western Bank, she was responsible for administering various business-to-consumer campaigns. Tea also has extensive marketing experience in the legal, retail, organizational development, and educational fields.

She earned her Bachelor’s degree in English and Fine Arts (with honors) from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and her Certificate of Specialized Studies in Marketing from the University of California at Davis. In 2001, she was professionally accredited as a Certified Professional Marketer, by the American Marketing Association.

    Hi Tea,
I am glad you moved to blogs partly because i had trouble viewing/reading your enewsletter. (would come in as garbage text even tho i am viewing in html)
I was interested in your bio especially the part where you marketed the PAC in Lodi. Sounds like a very similar job to mine now. I hope we can keep in touch in the future.
    thanks, vanessa
